Moyes challenges Sunderland players to set sights higher

Sunderland boss David Moyes says his players need to set their sights higher.

They head for Spurs tomorrow still without a league win this season and reeling from their second-half collapse in the 3-0 home defeat by Everton.

“I'm certainly up for the challenge," said the Scot, who could hand a full debut to record signing Didier Ndong.

“I wanted somewhere that excited me and this is really exciting, though not in the way I hoped. But there has to be a realistic element and a building job because we're up against it.

“Players need to lift their levels. For too long, it is too close to the bottom.

“We have to learn quick and somehow find a way of getting those levels up and show we can compete."
