Real Sociedad boss David Moyes admits he had the rug pulled from under him at Manchester United.
Moyes lasted just nine months - despite signing a whopping six-year contract to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson.
He said: "I still believe I was the right person for the job but if you don't get the time it's very difficult to work.
"Taking over from Sir Alex was never going to be easy. Looking back I think everyone is aware that it was a rebuilding job, a job that was going to take time. It could not be done immediately, and I signed a six-year contract, not a nine-month contract.
"If I'd signed a nine-month contract then I might have done things slightly differently. But I'd signed a six-year deal which meant we'd take things easy and not change things that Sir Alex had done for so many years."
