Mowbray will only accept market price for players in transfer window

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray is determined that the January transfer window will not see any of his players leave on the cheap. "Every player has a price and if someone wants to offer Manchester City-type money for a footballer then we would listen," said Mowbray.

"But, at this moment, no-one will leave if it's not beneficial to our football club. They will only leave for footballing reasons."

Mowbray is therefore ready to fend off reported interest from Birmingham, Tottenham and Bayern Munich in winger Aiden McGeady.

"Aiden is important because of the emphasis I have on wide players," Mowbray said.

"He has talent. Regarding Aiden, there are no issues as his contract has years to run. It's not even a question as far as I'm concerned."

On possible arrivals at Parkhead next month, he added: "We have got targets for January to help the team.

"Things have progressed. We've had conversations with other clubs."
