Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray expects August to be the critical time for any new faces arriving at the Riverside. He was looking to bring in several new players, but admitted no deals were imminent.
Mowbray told the club's official website: "That's not unusual because most clubs don't do deals in June.
"Clubs are reluctant to add to their salary bills in the summer months and usually wait until August to conclude their business.
"The closer it gets to the end of August, the busier it will be. Like most clubs we've made enquiries about players, but that's really as far as anything has got."
