Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho is desperate to seal a move to Everton.

O Jogo says Moutinho is convinced Sporting's cycle is over and frustrated by the lack of investment in the squad this summer is now chasing a move to Everton.

The five-year, £1.8 million-a-season contract offer from Everton is greater than twice Moutinho's current wages. A new stumbling block, however, could be Everton chief executive Keith Wyness' sudden resignation.
