AS Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho has jumped to the defence of Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao. The Colombian, on-loan from ASM, has found himself limited to a bench role at United in recent games.

Moutinho, who also played with Falcao at Porto, said: "It does not matter at which club he plays, he will always score his share.

"He has now had somewhat of a difficult time at United, but his skills are still great. For me he is a phenomenon.

"With his qualities he can show great things in any league with any team."
