Jose Mourinho has spoken very highly of French defender Kurt Zouma, saying he is the happiest player in his Chelsea squad.

Mourinho complimented the young defender whilst speaking to The Sun after his side's 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina.

The Portuguese manager said: "I see Kurt Zouma, the happiest boy in the squad because he knows that he has a brilliant future and he knows that John Terry is 34 and Gary Cahill is 29.

"He is always ready to work and give everything for the team. And he is always ready to play, even in positions that are not the best for him."

Zouma featured sporadically last season for Chelsea but after his manager's latest comments, could have a more regular chance to play this season.
