Manchester United defensive pair Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are set to be offloaded.

The Manchester Evening News says Southampton star Jose Fonte's potential arrival could spark a defensive exodus, with Jones and Rojo reportedly the most likely to be shown the exit door.

Stoke are understood to be eyeing a move for Jones, who joined United from Blackburn in a deal worth up to £17m in 2011.

The 20-cap England international has struggled for fitness in recent seasons, managing just 13 appearances in all competitions last term.

Meanwhile reports had claimed Mourinho was ready to use Rojo as a makeweight in a deal to land Fonte.
