Mourinho will push Chelsea to compete with Man Utd for Cavani

Chelsea will compete with Manchester United in the summer for PSG striker Edinson Cavani. United boss David Moyes has made Cavani a priority target for the next transfer window.

The Uruguayan has shone in his debut season in France, scoring 20 times in 30 matches but is reportedly unhappy at being played out of position, to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And along with Moyes, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is ready to make a record move this summer, with Romelu Lukaku's departure set to fund the deal, says the Mirror.

The 20-year-old has scored 26 goals during loan spell at Everton and West Brom, but the Portuguese doesn't believe he has the class to be a regular fixture at Stamford Bridge.

He has admitted he will seek to sign a high profile striker in the summer with Cavani thought to be the number one target.

Mourinho recently said: "It is something we have to do in the next transfer windows.

"Of all our three strikers, no one is the future for the next ten years like we have in other positions."
