New Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hopes to make a striker signing THIS WEEK.
The Mail on Sunday says Mourinho wants to hit the ground running at Manchester United this week by announcing a major striker signing after confirmation that 18-year-old England striker Marcus Rashford has signed a new contract.
United are keen to make a major statement of intent following the appointment of Mourinho on Friday.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was in Milan last night watching Mourinho targets Karim Benzema of Real Madrid and Atletico's Saul Niguez and meeting other agents at the Champions League final.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is available on a free after his departure from Paris St Germain, with United negotiating with the Swede's agent Mino Raiola, who wants £220,000-a-week for his 34-year-old client. Alvaro Morata of Juventus — given his debut by Mourinho at Real as a teenager — and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund are also being considered.
