Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to Spain in the summer. Sport says if Mourinho stays at Real, he will push president Florentino Perez to move for Gerrard in June. Mourinho has been chasing Gerrard since he was in charge of Chelsea and feels with Fernando Torres now sold, the midfielder will be considering his future.
After persuading Florentino to bring in Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City, Mourinho feels he now has more influence on transfer policy and will push for Gerrard as they try to arrest the gap between themselves and Barcelona next season.
Mourinho believes Gerrard, 30, would be available from Liverpool for €30 million - should he indicate a willingness to leave.
