Jose Mourinho has revealed he will drop Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard for Manchester United's opening Europa League fixture.
The pair were hooked at half-time of Saturday's Manchester derby for underperforming massively in the opening 45 minutes as Pep Guardiola's City side dominated the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
United are now preparing to take on Feyenoord in Rotterdam in their first Group A clash on Thursday and Mourinho insists the pair will not be present in his starting line-up.
"The performances are the deciding factor. Performances are the only way that I can decide," he said.
"So if you are asking me if they are going to play against Feyenoord, then no.
"And it is not to punish them it is just to decide in relation to what I have — and what do I have? Their performances.
"So of course I am going to play other players."
