Manchester United are set to launch a big-money pursuit of Marco Verratti, according to reports.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport suggests that new United boss Jose Mourinho has instructed the club to get the Italian midfielder from PSG by any means necessary.

It is believed that the Red Devils are willing to pay as much as £79million to land the 23-year-old who will miss Euro2016 with a groin injury.

Mourinho wants Verratti so badly that United could offer the former Pescara ace £6.7m per season to lure him from Parc des Princes to Old Trafford.

Verratti is currently contracted with French champions PSG until 2020.
