Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho doesn't want Andreas Pereira sold.
The Manchester Evening News says it is understood his demotion from the first-team squad had led to his representatives exploring the possibility of a permanent move away from the club he joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2011.
But Mourinho and United do not want to lose a player who is still only 20 years old.
It is believed he has been reminded that while there are no available places in the first-team squad this season, that will not always be the case.
He has been linked with a loan move to Middlesbrough and United would prefer Pereira to gain experience in the Premier League, shunning interest from Spain and Holland.
