Mourinho still identifying Man Utd best XI - Neville

Manchester United legend Gary Neville thinks that manager Jose Mourinho is still trying to figure out his best XI at the club.

The former United full-back was speaking on Sky Sports following his old club's 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

After the weekend's results, United find themselves seventh in the Premier League table, six points behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, and Neville feels the major issue is in midfield.

Neville said: "I have to say when I look at United I still don't know what their best XI is. Mourinho is still early in his reign, he is identifying his best players, his best XI, his best partnerships.

"To be fair, United have to trust him and will trust him to get it right over the next couple of transfer windows, because if you look at their midfield, they have (Paul) Pogba, (Morgan) Schneiderlin and (Marouane) Fellaini; that is £170m spent on central midfielders in the last three years and I still don't know which is the best pairing.

"(Michael) Carrick actually looks like he still gives the most balance. The other four, there doesn't seem to be a pair between them."
