Mourinho right to complain about congested Man Utd schedule - Keown

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has found an unexpected supporter in Arsenal legend Martin Keown in his criticism of his side's congested schedule.

United are scheduled to visit Chelsea for their FA Cup quarter-final clash on March 13, just three days before their next Europa League fixture.

The Portuguese expressed his frustration with his side's upcoming schedule following their 1-0 Europa League win over St Etienne and Keown thinks he was quite right to voice his frustration.

He writes in his Daily Mail Q&A column: “Jose was always going to complain.

“I would not have been happy playing Monday night and Thursday. He has got a point.

“This was always going to be a difficult one. The BBC were going to want to show that game. Looking at it selfishly, we now have a chance to see this on terrestrial TV. It's a mouthwatering game. Manchester United are on fantastic form.

“At first it seemed as though he was at war with his squad, but it's now all gelling.

“It's Mourinho going back to Chelsea. Conte has done what he's done. Jose's bigger concern will be getting (Henrikh) Mkhitaryan and (Michael) Carrick fit again."
