The Mirror says the message for Mourinho from the top at Old Trafford is simple – you're the manager so carry on.

Ed Woodward, the executive vice-president and hirer and firer, is under zero pressure from the American-based Glazer family who own United to dump Mourinho after two defeats in their first three Premier League games.

Woodward and the United board believe results will improve and are looking for a win at Burnley to take the sting out of the early season uproar over the poor start.

United's hierarchy consider it far too soon to be questioning Mourinho's future at the club – especially after handing him a contract extension to 2020 last January.
