Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho concedes they may struggle to match Manchester City in the coming years.
Mourinho admits United will find it hard to topple local rivals and runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City – unless the Blues suddenly stop spending.
“We will try, but the reality is that some clubs, they were ready to win," said Mourinho.
“Other clubs are not ready to win. One thing is to go for the jugular and another is to build a different process.
“If the clubs that are in better situation than us, if they stop investing and we invest, we are side to side.
“If they keep investing the same or more than us, it's difficult. It's as simple as that. It's difficult."
