Mourinho: Ibrahimovic wanted to come to Real Madrid

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho admits he would have loved to have signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer. In the end, Ibrahimovic left Barcelona for AC Milan - and hasn't looked back.

Mourinho revealed: "I do not know, it is not about me. I can only say that he left me as Inter's top scorer in Serie A, he scored 25 goals and I never had serious problems with him.

"He enjoys all my respect and affection and I think he also has regard for me.

"Although he had wanted Real Madrid, it was impossible.

"After what happened to Luis Figo, I think it will be centuries before a Barca player goes to Madrid and back again."
