Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has joined the battle for Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic.
The Daily Star Sunday says the Croatia international striker could become surplus to requirements when Robert Lewandowski completes his switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Mourinho is keeping an eye on the player who he feels could add something to the Stamford Bridge club's forward line.
Both Arsenal and Manchester United have previously been linked with the player, who signed for Bayern for £10.5million from Wolfsburg in 2012.
Reports claim Mandzukic - joint top scorer at Euro 2012 - prefers an interactive relationship with his managers so Mourinho's arm-around-the-shoulder approach would certainly suit him in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
