Jose Mourinho was full of praise for his Manchester United side after they impressed greatly in their Europa League win over Fenerbahce.
Mourinho's Red Devils defeated the Turkish giants 4-1 at Old Trafford to make it two wins in their past two European outings to fully recover from their loss at Feyenoord in the Group A opener.
Penalties from Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial preceded lovely strikes from Pogba and Lingard as United dominated proceedings to join Feyenoord at the top of the standings.
Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Mourinho was satisfied with what his side produced from an attacking sense but did slightly criticise the team for allowing Robin van Persie to score a late goal for the visitors.
"Sure, three points, that's what we need," he said when asked if the win was very important.
"We knew that after the first match its important to make nine points at home, and try for more in the away matches, so it is a very important victory for us.
"It was good. I think they (Fener) come with a good defensive plan and they stopped us for the first period of the game, but then the first two goals, two clear penalties, that opened the door for our quality.
"I think we played well for periods but then with the fourth goal we stopped, which is natural, and they tried to have a reaction which they did.
"I'm never happy to concede a goal, especially if it's not a perfect one and we lacked concentration on that, that's the nature of the players with lots of changes, and ok thats acceptable.
"The important thing is we have six points and two wins at home."
United next meet Fenerbahce in Istanbul in their next Europa League match on November 3.
