Mourinho hails Levy's market work at Spurs: Walker sale makes sense

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has hailed the work of Tottenham this summer.

Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, has been criticised for their slow transfer window, however Mourinho is impressed.

He said: "Everyone talks about the investment dimension of Manchester City, but there is another team that I feel the phenomenal dimension of the investment: Tottenham.

"I think they did not spend a single penny. For me, the size of their investment is incredible. They kept all the players they wanted: Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier. They sold Kyle Walker (to Manchester City) because I think they wanted to sell him. And probably because they think Trippier is as good as Walker. Younger too.

"They kept all those they wanted to keep."
