Mourinho hails Inter Milan spirit after Reggina victory

Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho was delighted with his team's fighting spirit after their 3-2 win at Reggina.

"We went from one point to three with a single goal," he said of Ivan Cordoba's stoppage-time winner. "It was a fantastic game in terms of spirit and heart played in a stadium with a fiery atmosphere.

"It is a truly important win and I compliment the players. The last half-hour saw us try to win with great quality. We had many chances and deserved to win.

"I know full well we also risked losing with a few counter-attacks and Reggina were very dangerous."

There was some bad news for Mourinho, as Cristian Chivu picked up a knee injury when bravely blocking one of those attacks.

"It's the third time since the start of the season that he has been injured. It's a shame, because now I will be forced to field yet another pair of central defenders."
