Manchester United are underway for the new season, with the players and coaches back at Carrington for pre-season training.

Some players are just focused on getting their fitness and rhythm ahead of the new season.

But for some, it is a chance to impress the manager and get a leg up on the competition for places in the team.

This list of players includes Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly, Angel Gomes, Lee Grant and Antonio Valencia.

Martial and Bailly are unique cases. They are talented players, one whom Mourinho signed, and most United fans want to see them stay.

But both players seemed to have fallen out with Mourinho last season. They will want to use preseason to show they have what it takes to succeed under him.

Angel Gomes is a young player who may want to show he can be a part of the first team. Then we have Lee Grant, a new goalkeeper signing who may be the understudy to David De Gea.

And finally we come to Antonio Valencia, who will want to keep new signing Diogo Dalot away from his starting right back spot!
