Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is planning a double-raid on Chelsea. The Daily Express says Mourinho will launch a double swoop on Stamford Bridge, with Ricardo Carvalho and John Obi Mikel the subject of a combined £21 million move.
Mourinho wants to move in and grab players before Chelsea's new manager - most likely Carlo Ancelotti - gets in and becomes fully acquainted with his squad.
Mikel, 22, was signed by Mourinho for Chelsea in 2006, but was expected to be offered a new deal by the club at the end of this season.
His current deal runs out in 2011 and he has been offered a highly lucrative five-year contract by Inter, having fallen behind Michael Essien and Michael Ballack under Guus Hiddink.
Carvalho's poor injury record this season will also be a factor, and with new arrivals sure to come in over the summer, the Blues could decide to cash in.
