Jose Mourinho has told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to forget moving for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Mourinho declared last week he would love to coach Rooney.

But Sport says Mourinho has told Perez not to splash out on Rooney and instead focus on his former Inter Milan players Douglas Maicon and Diego Milito.

There's also talk in England that Mourinho will not move for Rooney so to avoid any rift with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
