A wonder goal from Jeremie Boga earned Chelsea a draw with Austrian top-flight side WAC RZ Pellets.
The opening 45 minutes had ended goalless, with Izzy Brown passing up the best opportunity of the half, but the home side took the lead soon after the break.
Jose Mourinho unsurprisingly made a number of substitutions during the second half, but it was the switch he made at the break - Boga for Lewis Baker - which ultimately proved pivotal.
"For the kids it was a fantastic experience, not just to play for Chelsea, but also to compete," said the manager.
"They are all doing well. Sometimes we see them and we don't realise their age, but Boga, Izzy Brown are 17, Dom Solanke is 16. We brought what we consider is the top talent at this club here, it doesn't matter what their age is. They are kids so for them it is a fantastic experience."
