A biographer for former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says he loses confidence in players if they ever drop their commitment.
Manuel Pereira believes Mourinho always wants total control of his squad.
"When it comes to football, he wants to have full control," Pereira said.
"Mourinho quickly becomes suspicious if players do not reach their top level in training and competition. He wants them to be disciplined and play football well. They are also paid for that.
"If a player gives a hundred percent, then Mourinho has no problems with him. Then there is nothing for him to control."
"But," adds the writer, "if Mourinho does not have the right feeling for a player, it will be difficult. Most clubs believe in the professionalism of players, that they pay attention to themselves, do not drink alcohol, do not go to parties, pay attention to their diet, and so on.
"But the example of Ousmane Dembélé (Barcelona) shows that some players have difficulty with that."
