Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had a heart-to-heart with Cesc Fabregas before his move from Barcelona was rubberstamped on Thursday. The London Evening Standard says Fabregas put any hesitation over working with Jose Mourinho behind him after being assured he will be given a key role at Chelsea next season.
Fabregas completed a £27m switch to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona, which could rise to £30m depending on silverware, on Thursday night.
Significantly, Fabregas was also assured during negotiations that Mourinho sees him as providing the spark to the team's attacking play from midfield next season and that he is to become one of the leaders in the dressing room.
