Chelsea icon Didier Drogba has praised club manager Jose Mourinho for providing support to him and his family during his spells at Stamford Bridge.
The 37-year-old, who is currently playing in MLS with Montreal Impact, was signed by Mourinho for the Blues on two separate occasions.
When asked about his opinion of the Portuguese, he told Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday: "Everyone knows he is someone I respect a lot because he changed not only my life, but my family life.
"I'm from Africa and when you are the eldest you take care of the whole family and he allowed me to give hope to my family. He put his trust in me and I think I did everything to make sure he got it back.
"Last year when I was on the bench I was coming in and he was saying to me 'you've got 10 minutes, score a goal man.' He'd say: 'Steve Bruce saw you coming in and said 'oh no, not him again'. He said to him 'don't worry, he only scores in big games!'
