Mourinho (again) declares Liga over for Real Madrid

After defeat to Malaga, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho concedes their Spanish Liga campaign is over.

Mourinho copped criticism from president Florentino Perez and the players after saying something similar following their draw with Espanyol.

"Real Madrid last season were the champions and led the second-placed team by nine points," said Mourinho.

"This season we are behind, and in my opinion we won't overcome that difference. We have to take responsibility for the fact that we are not playing well in the championship, but that from match to match things have happened that I do not like to talk about, especially after losing. Last season we were on top and in this regard we are not doing well at the moment.

"I do not want to shirk my responsibilities, nor the points difference that separates us from the leader, but that's the way it is. That is the reality of the matter."
