Motherwell boss Mark McGhee admits he attempted to sign Derby County defender Bob Malcolm during the winter market.

The Well boss said: "I honestly don't know what the situation officially is with Bob so until I know that I can't comment really except to say we did want to bring him in and that's not changed."
