Motherwell striker set for south of the border return

Motherwell striker John Sutton looks set to be offered the chance to move back to England, skysports.com reports. The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and his situation has not gone unnoticed south of the border.

The former Tottenham trainee has not played in England since 2008 when Motherwell snapped him up from Wycombe.

Sutton has performed well for the Steelmen, with 25 goals in 76 games for the SPL club.

Sutton is eligible to talk to any club from outside Scotland from 1st January, and he could sign a contract with an English club after that date, with a view to joining them on a Bosman free transfer in the summer.
