Motherwell striker Michael Higdon has been named the Scottish Premier League Player of the Year for season 2012/13.
The 29-year old Englishman beat off competition from Hibernian's Leigh Griffiths, Inverness Caledonian Thistle's Andrew Shinnie and Aberdeen's Niall McGinn to win the award in Glasgow on Sunday night.
Higdon, formerly of St Mirrena and Falkirk, broke the season scoring record for the Steelmen this season on his way to 26 goals which has helped the club to second place on the table with two matches remaining.
