The 29-year old spent some time in police custody after an incident in a Glasgow nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 29-year-old man is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged assault at a nightclub in Ingram Street in Glasgow at 1.25am today."
Despite the occurrence, Higdon said it was still certainly a night to remember: “Honestly, it’s still the best night I’ve had as a footballer. It’s a career high and that’s all I’m thinking about, rather than any negatives. I hope other people see it like that too.
“These things happen in every walk of life.
“I’ve had a great season and that’s what I hope people remember.”
He added: “I wish things hadn’t happened the way they did.
“I’m annoyed at myself for getting myself into a situation like that because it’s not me. I’m not the type of lad who goes out clubbing or to bars. I’m a country-pub type of guy.
“That’s the disappointing aspect of it because I think this was avoidable.
“I should have known better than getting into that kind of situation.”
