Motherwell boss Stuart McCall and Sheffield United have opened talks regarding a move to the League One club.
The 48-year old former Everton, Rangers, Bradford City and Blades midfielder has cut short his end-of-season trip to Spain with the Well squad in order to speak with the Bramall Lane club about their managerial vacancy.
United sacked Danny Wilson in April and have since had Chris Morgan in the interim role but are keen to bring McCall back to South Yorkshire.
