Motherwell manager Stuart McCall has urged in-demand striker Jamie Murphy to stay at the club this season.

The 21-year old is the subject of interest from Stoke City and Tottenham as well as Wigan Athletic and West Bromwich Albion but McCall feels it is too early for him to leave the Scottish Premier League for England's top flight.

"I honestly believe another year will benefit him. Sometimes players leave Scotland for the Premier League or Championship and they are on the bench or reserves," he said.

"They are not playing week in, week out, learning the game.

"Jamie is just 21, he is doing terrifically for us, but I genuinely believe another season and he will be ready."
