Motherwell boss McGhee slams Nancy attitude

Mark McGhee has opened a war of words with UEFA Cup opponents AS Nancy after reacting furiously to the rude welcome shown to his Motherwell team in France two weeks ago. Nancy defeated the Fir Park side 1-0 but it was their lack of respect which rankled with McGhee.

"When we went to Nancy a fortnight ago I anticipated making new contacts there," McGhee told the Scottish Sun.

"What I found instead was a wall of indifference and no interest from their side to have any contacts with us.

"I guess this meant they thought we had nothing to offer them.

"I was about to go on the internet to refer to t heir manager's name but I stopped myself. Because of the contempt he showed us, I have not remembered it and I'm not going to give him the courtesy of learning it.

"When Nancy are here on Thursday, we'll show them respect then we'll try to kick their teeth in.

"On Thursday, we must take the game to Nancy. We'll require a never-say-die-attitude."
