Kilmarnock and Motherwell have both been found guilty of breaking SPL rules over postponement of home matches due to frozen pitches. Following an SPL board meeting in which the findings of the inquiry were discussed, Killie were found guilty of failing to ensure their heating system was in effective use prior to their game.
The board decided to let the club off with a warning as it was the first such postponement at Rugby Park in more than five years.
Motherwell have been asked to respond to the charge and they will face a hearing in the new year.
An SPL spokesman said: "Clearly everyone wants to see our games going ahead as scheduled. Clubs have a responsibility to make sure that their undersoil heating systems are in working order and used correctly to avoid call-offs in the cold winter weather."
