James Morrison believes West Bromwich Albion teammate Saido Berahino has learnt a lot this season.
The 22-year-old striker has been in the headlines for mainly the wrong reasons following his failed transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and subsequent follow-up interest from Spurs in January.
Berahino, who was also a target for Newcastle United during the winter transfer window, publicly conveyed his annoyance at not getting a move away from The Hawthorns but in more recent times he has focused on helping the club and according to Morrison, even apologised to the playing group for his behaviour.
"Obviously we all know he had that trouble," Morrison said on Sky Sports during Sunday's broadcast of Albion's 1-0 win over Manchester United.
"I think the penny's dropped now.
"He's realised what he is missing. I think he said himself he missed it (not playing) a lot.
"In January, the speculation got into his head and being such a young player, it can affect him, and it did."
When asked by Thierry Henry if Berahino had apologised to the players, Morrison added: "Yeah, he did.
"He did at the Christmas party. We having food and a few drinks, and he came across and apologised to everyone and also paid for the meal."
Morrison added further: "I think the frustration is you can see what a talent he is and how far he can go so I think that's the frustration of all the players and everyone at the club."
