Catania sports chief Pietro Lo Monaco says young striker Takayuki Morimoto is a future Japanese star.

The centre-forward was again on the scoresheet in Catania's amazing 4-0 derby triumph over Palermo on Sunday and Lo Monaco said: "He will have no problem becoming a starter for Japan.

"It's just a shame he picked up an injury after playing so well against Palermo."

Everton and Manchester City are keeping tabs on Morimoto leading up to the summer market.
