Morgan wants Leicester side to write their own history

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has urged the team to write themselves into the club's history books this season.

The Foxes remain top of the Premier League table as they continue their push towards what would certainly be a shock title win.

The East Midlands outfit host Norwich City on the weekend and key defender Morgan is eager to get back to winning ways following their last-start loss to Arsenal and keep the premiership dream alive.

"We just want to write our own legacy and put our own names in the history books and do it for ourselves," he said.

"I'm sure the media will be comparing us to great achievements of teams that have been in a position like ours. We're not listening to that too much.

"It's been a great season so far and at the start of the season everyone's focus was avoiding relegation. I think we've surpassed that.

"We're at that point now where we know how good we are, we've played all the teams in this league and proved that we can be as good if not better than them.

"That belief is firm within us and we're just relishing the opportunity really and want to make the most of it.

"We were probably one of the favourites to get relegated this season and it's been far from that – we're top of the league. Just saying that is a bit of a fairy-tale and bit of a surprise to everyone.

"I'm sure we've surprised everyone so far this season but we have real belief in ourselves and we believe we deserve to be here."
