DC United play maker Jaime Moreno has spoken about why he did not make the trip to New York at the weekend and also how he nearly injured himself again celebrating his team’s victory at home.

Speaking to the Washington Post about his injury Moreno said, "It was pretty sore and going to New York I don't think the turf would have helped.

“We decided it was best for me to stay. The weekend it was still sore, the last couple days it got a little better and today its better.

“We have to be careful because these things sometimes play games with you. I have to feel 100 percent to be sure."

Moreno watched his team 3-2 victory comeback on TV with family and friends. At the end: "We all went crazy. I almost smashed a lamp above my head!"
