More party controversy for Tottenham players

Tottenham players were involved in more party hijinks last week, it has been revealed.

A fortnight ago, furious Redknapp ordered 16 first team players to each make a £2,000 donation to charity after they flew to Dublin for a secret Christmas booze-up.

But that crackdown didn't stop Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe, Tom Huddlestone and Alan Hutton heading for a fancy dress party at Soho's Maya nightclub after Spurs' 2-0 win over West Ham last Monday, says the News of the World.

Revellers claim England winger Lennon, dressed as Captain America, Huddlestone, who wore an Incredibles costume and Hutton - who was in an Iron Man outfit - arrived at the club at around 11.30pm.

They headed for a table in the VIP area which was loaded with £450 bottles of Cristal champagne and two £500-a-time magnums of Greg Goose vodka.

Defoe, dressed as The Incredible Hulk was already at the club.

One eyewitness claimed: "The Spurs players were taken to the best table in the club which had loads of drink on it.

"They were behaving like typical flash footballers. There were so many girls around them that it was an absolute joke - the table was surrounded.

"Some of them didn't mind being chatted up but there were some who were obviously a bit annoyed by the attention. The players were really enjoying themselves and I was surprised to see them out on the town so soon after they got slaughtered by Harry for their Dublin trip."

The Spurs stars look like escaping any disciplinary action over Monday's knees-up with Redknapp insisting: "They had a heavy weekend playing on Saturday then Monday so it's not a problem for me for them to go out on a Monday night - even though this is the first I have heard of it. I won't be taking any action.

"We had an issue the other week but that was entirely different because of when and where it was and it has been dealt with."
