More Middlesbrough striker problems as Mido breaks down

Middlesbrough's striker problems are set to continue with Mido expected to be missing for three weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Egyptian has been hampered by the problem in recent weeks and was replaced after an hour of Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton.

He feels the injury requires rest and he is likely to miss Boro's Premier League clash with Manchester City at the weekend.

Mido is also ruling himself out of Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier with Botswana later this month.

"I won't be available for the game (against Botswana)," Mido told FilGoal.com. "I hope I can be fit for the game against Chelsea in the Premiership after three weeks."
