More coaching staff for Portsmouth boss

Portsmouth chief Tony Adams believes his backroom line-up is now almost complete, but is keen to give an emerging coach with a knowledge of the local area a chance to impress. He told Sky Sports News: "I did do a lot of training here for the last two-and-a-half years, I do like going out there and doing the training. They are my babies.

"I do like going out there and doing that, so how many more people do I need?

"John (Metgod) is going to come in and put sessions on and I think the players will enjoy that.

"Paul Groves and David Coles are here as well, two other first-class coaches, what they've done for the past two-and-a-half years has been fantastic.

"I might need another one, maybe give an up-and-coming English coach a chance, but I'm very protective of my guys.

"I'd like to give someone, a local guy maybe, the opportunity to come in and work with the first team, but also with the youth side and on player development. We need to get some Portsmouth players through."
