Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti doesn't blame fans for protesting the failed swap involving Fredy Guarin and Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic.
There remains talk of a deal being revived this week, despite the anger.
Asked about the market campaign, Moratti confessed: "I think it could be better, it depends on them.
"Vucinic-Guarin? Inter's fans perhaps felt unhappy about the negotiations because they were dealing with Juve. You cannot fault their reaction. Chances of reopening? I cannot see it."
Asked to give advice to president Erick Thohir, Moratti added: "He is learning quickly, he doesn't need my advice.
"It's important others keep the pressure off his shoulders as he learns. That's how the club will succeed."
