Moratti says Inter Milan skipper Zanetti could easily play on

Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti feels Javier Zanetti could've played on next season.

Victory over Lazio was Zanetti's last Serie A game at San Siro after 856 appearances in all competition, 21 goals and 19 years.

"Is he like a son to me? Well, let's say it has been a special rapport, as he was one of the first players to arrive under my tenure in 1995 and I chose him personally," Honorary President Moratti told Mediaset.

"I think he could still play, even though his passport would suggest it's time to stop. His secret is hard work and humility, which took him to success.

"I would've liked to see him in the starting XI tonight. It's a pity."
