Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has paid tribute to captain Javier Zanetti.
Zanetti is now Inter's appearances record holder.
"Everything that comes to mind when talking about Zanetti is positive. What we say about him sounds like a compliment, but it's all true," said Moratti.
"He is a wonderful person, an equally wonderful athlete and I am happy he is so loved, because he deserves it."
Zanetti was practically the first signing of Moratti's regime back in the summer of 1995.
"In all honesty, he was a full-back, so nobody thought I would like him," grinned the attack-loving patron.
"It was fortunate that I saw him and wanted to sign this player. He was my first signing, but the best thing is he is such a good man that he stayed at this club for as long as me."
