Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti insists he has no problems with the new regime.
Moratti denies reports of a rift with new owner Erick Thohir.
"Thohir and his collaborators have the qualities to do well," Moratti told La Repubblica.
"It's better that I don't come back as President because if that did happen, it would be a sign that things were a mess.
"The fans are always very nice to me, they thank me for the feelings that they have been able to experience in the past and for all the satisfaction they have had.
"I imagine though that they are focused on the future and it's right that that's the case.
"Yes, I would really like it if Ranocchia can be captain. I also hope that he goes to the World Cup.
"I will definitely follow the Azzurri at the World Cup with passion, as I have always done.
"Prandelli has good sense, it's good that he has managed to put together a good group who will maybe be underestimated at the beginning.
"But, as usual, they will show their character in the end. Character is necessary because enables you to do good things."
